After exploring this architectural marvel, we’ll head to Rabat, the capital of Morocco. There, you’ll visit the historical Hassan Tower and the charming Oudayas Kasbah, perched above the ocean. Enjoy an overnight stay in a comfortable hotel in Rabat.
On the second day of your Morocco itinerary 7 days, we’ll begin by traveling from your hotel or riad in Marrakech to the impressive Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah. A UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987, this fortified village has been a backdrop for many famous films. After visiting the kasbah and exploring the nearby film studio, we’ll continue towards Ouarzazate for lunch.
In the afternoon, we’ll make our way to the Oasis of Skoura, a small village, and then travel to the Rose City, passing through the Valley of Roses. We’ll conclude the day with a scenic drive to the Dades Gorges, where we’ll stay overnight in a charming hotel or riad, followed by a delicious dinner.
After a traditional breakfast, we depart from the tranquil town and begin our desert adventure. Our route takes us to the village of Tinghir, a historic Berber settlement, where the name means “shoulder” in the Berber language. Tinghir once served as a military post during French colonization. After a lunch at a local café, we continue our journey toward Erfoud, known as the marble fossil capital of Morocco.
There, we explore the fossil sites before crossing rocky terrain to reach Merzouga. Upon arrival, enjoy a camel ride over the golden sand dunes, capturing stunning photos as the sun sets. Afterward, we make our way to the desert camp where you will have dinner under a star-filled sky, accompanied by traditional nomadic music and dancing around the fire.
After an early wake-up to enjoy a stunning sunrise and a delicious breakfast at the desert camp, your camel guide will lead you back to the vehicle. We’ll begin our journey from the desert to Fes, passing through the beautiful Ziz Valley near Errachidia, the capital of the Tafilalt region. Our next stop is Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco.” The name “Ifrane” comes from the Amazigh word for caves. In 2013, the city was ranked as the second cleanest city in the world. The outdoor beauty and unique atmosphere make it a special place to visit. You’ll also see the famous stone lion statue in the center of the city.
The modern city of Ifrane was established by the French in 1929. After exploring Ifrane, we’ll continue our journey to Fes, passing through small Berber villages before arriving for an overnight stay at your hotel or riad.
